What We Teach |
We teach that the Bible is the supernaturally inspired Word of God, without error in its original manuscripts and preserved by God in its verbal, plenary inspiration, and that it is the divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
We teach that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God.
We teach that God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe and that creation was by divine command, not through evolutionary process.
We teach that God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent Christ into the world to save sinners.
We teach that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life teaching and working miracles exactly as revealed in the Bible, that He was crucified, dying as a penalty for our sins, and that He was bodily raised from the dead on the third day. Later, He ascended to Heaven where He is now the head of the church, interceding for believers. One day He will return to this earth in person, bodily and visibly, to set up His millennial kingdom.
We teach that Jesus Christ, through His death and shed blood, has made a perfect atonement for sin by redeeming us from the curse of the law. Men are saved and justified on the sole basis of His substitutionary death.
We teach that salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature, and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works, baptism, church membership - or any of man's efforts - and is of pure grace through faith.
We teach that a true believer is eternally secure, that he cannot lose his salvation. Sin will interrupt the joy of fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father, but will not remove the salvation.
We teach that all who receive Christ become joint heirs with Christ, and at death, their spirits immediately go to be with Christ in a conscious, blessed state. At the rapture their bodies will be joined to their spirits, raised to the likeness of the body of Christ's glory to live forever in His divine presence.
We teach that it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling Holy Spirit.
We teach that the Holy Spirit is a person, is God, and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells, baptizes, and seals all believers at the moment of salvation and fills them in response to confession of sin and yieldedness.
